Formula 1

I have recently been involved in the F1 in Schools Competiton, hosted by the University of Stellenbosch. This is an amazing competition where school kids get an opportunity to design their own F1 racing cars on a computer programme and then make them to ace against other teams.

I was part of Team Xenith:)
Our car ran off carbon dioxide gas, which gave it enough power to speed across the +-15m race track in about 2 seconds!

Unfortunately, there were faster speeds than ours, so we didn't win....but we had a LOT of fun throughout this competition & I definately learnt tons of new things.

This was my cake for my 'SOUR 16th GAY-EMO LEMONZ' birthday party:)
[it was chocolate--yumm:)]

The Truth About Lemonz

I think now would be a good time to mention my slightly crazy ''obsession' with LEMONZ:)

Two years ago, my friend Julia gave me a lemon as a present [every Wednesday we would give each other a random present, because we both thought Wednesdays were really dull and slow adn we needed something to cheer us up :)].

Anyway, I carried this lemon around with me the whole day during school and i drew all over it with permanent marker during my classes. I felt super cool with my lemon and, in turn, that made me feel happy:D

After that, I began carrying lemonz around with me to certain places...
e.g.
  • concerts -- I would dedicate a lemon to a particular concert and make all my friends at the concert sign it.
  • on tour -- on the aeroplane, I would pass a lemon around and make everyone sign it.
  • I even used lemon themes for my school projects (once I created a 'Lemon Bug' for an oral)

Therefore, lemonz became my lucky charms [ let me point out that I don't particularly believe in lucky charms, but carrying a lemon to matches and concerts I participated in, actually made me feel less nervous]. Needless to say, the lemonz eventually died, but thats beside the point.

If anyone was wondering , I changed the word 'lemons' to 'lemonz', because it makes it more personal when i use the word and quite frankly, it looks cooler:)

So, slowly lemonz began to take over my world. I have a vase full of fake, plastic lemonz next to my bed; my friends give me lemonz as presents and; I did not have the usual 'Sweet 16th' birthday most girls have, I had a 'Sour 16th' with the theme of my birthday party being 'GAY-EMO LEMONZ:) [ just to point out: 'gay' in this case means happy]

This has been a brief explanation on my wierd obsession with lemonz, i hope to have enlightened you and not frightened you away with my wierdness :)

My 'SOUR 16th' birthday party :D

my best friend Yeji and I at my party. The theme was 'GAY-EMO LEMONZ'.

Greetings

Greetings Everyone :)

I was recently inspired to create my very own blog after seeing the cool blog my friend Tarryn had created.

Just the word 'blogging' sounds so cool when you say it to people. I also think most of my class (Gr10R) feels just as cool when they tell people that it is now their 'HOMEWORK' to blog:)
[we have recently been assigned a film project which requires us to blog our progress]

Anyway, I think blogging is going to be super awsome and I can't wait to have my own little part of cyberspace :D
